Footsteps of James Herriot Day Trip 2018

Footsteps of James Herriot Day Trip 2018

An enjoyable day out following in the footsteps of James Herriot visiting Northallerton, Thirsk and Ripon.

First stop is the market town of Northallerton and today just happens to be market day. Next is Thirsk which is centred around its bustling cobbled square. It is more famous as the birthplace of James Herriot, the vet and author of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ whose former surgery is now a museum dedicated to him. Our final stop of the day is Ripon with its imposing cathedral.
